Nearly 130K Minnesotans sign up for MNsure health coverage for 2023

(ABC 6 News) – MNsure announced their recent open enrollment period for comprehensive health coverage was one of the most successful to date.

MNsure says 129,537 Minnesotans signed up for comprehensive health coverage for 2023, and more than 29,000 were determined eligible for public program coverage. The company’s tenth open enrollment period ran from Nov. 1, 2022 to Jan. 15, 2023.

This year, MNsure says for those with private insurance, 57% of enrollees will save money thanks to advanced premium tax credits, which act like an instant discount to lower the cost of monthly premiums, that average $518 per month. On average, MNsure says enrollees will save $6,220 in 2023. In some parts of the state, eligible households will see even larger average annual savings. For example, enrollees in northwestern Minnesota will save over $7,000 and those in southeastern Minnesota will save nearly $10,000 on their health care costs.

Minnesotans who don’t have health coverage or missed the open enrollment, may still have opportunities to get covered. For more on MNsure health coverage, CLICK HERE.
