Mason City hosts delegation from Republic of Kosovo

(ABC 6 News) – City leaders in Mason City had some visitors in the area Tuesday evening.

A delegation from from the Republic of Kosovo was at city hall and got a tour of the community and were at the city council meeting Tuesday evening.

Iowa has a long standing sister state relationship with the Republic of Kosovo, a vibrant emerging democracy in southeastern Europe, with many similarities to Iowa.

It is famous as a center for culture and art, tourism, agriculture, and mineral mining.

The partnership between Iowa and the Republic of Kosovo has been connecting people across sectors of society and their visit to Mason City was to exchange information with Iowans about how local government works and how to improve the quality of life and opportunities for the people in Kosovo.
