(ABC 6 News) – The man accused of destroying a Satanic display placed inside Iowa’s capitol building now faces hate crime charges.

The display was placed in the state’s capitol during the holidays and featured a ram’s head covered with mirrors.

Michael Cassidy of Mississippi has previously been charged with criminal mischief, but prosecutors upgraded the charges saying his actions violated individual rights.
