(ABC 6 News) – March 14th is Pi Day! To celebrate, two local pizzerias are offering a special pizza promotion and food drive event to support two Rochester charities.

Pi Wood-Fired Pizza and Tilda’s Pizzeria are supporting the Ronald McDonald House of
Rochester, MN
(RMDH) and 125 LIVE of Rochester, MN.

“We’ve been doing this promotion for 13 years now at Pi Pizza, and this year we’re including Tildas so we’re really excited about it,” says Linda Black, owner of Pi Wood-Fired Pizza & Tilda’s Pizzeria. “We all have tough times in life, things pop up, and we could all use a little help. We live in a great community and people take care of each other here and that’s really special to us.”

By donating canned or dry food items, customers will receive a special discount on select menu items.

“The Ronald McDonald House is very fortunate to have partners in the community like Pi Pizza and Tilda’s, supporting us and our families each and every day,” says Lauren Brown, a development officer with RMDH. “It takes a large community of people to help us do what we do at our house and support our mission. We’re so grateful that the community steps up and helps us with those things.”

At Pi Wood-Fired Pizza, one canned or dry food item will allow a customer to purchase a Margharita pizza for $3.14. Guests can purchase up to six pizzas with an equal donation at the promotion price from 11:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.

At Tilda’s Pizzeria, guests will get a 10″ cheese pizza for $3.14 with a donation of a canned or dry good
food item when you dine-in from 4:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.

Also in Rochester, Shorewood Senior Campus is celebrating its 3rd annual Pi Day by giving away mini pies to senior citizens. According to Shorewood, close to 100 pies will be shared with community seniors on Pi Day.
