Rochester Mayor’s office seeking applicants for 2022 Mayor’s Medal of Honor Nominees

(ABC 6 News) – Rochester Mayor Kim Norton is seeking applications for the 2022 Mayor’s Medal of Honor.

The Mayor says the medal recognizes residents who have gone above and beyond to serve the community. It’s the 39th year of the Mayor’s Medal of Honor.

Mayor Norton says, “in its 39th year, the Mayor’s Medal of Honor will celebrate and recognize the outstanding contributions of our community members. Each year I am amazed by the caliber of the people we have the opportunity to honor. I encourage all members of our community to consider submitting a nomination for someone you know who deserves this recognition.”

There are 14 categories overall with nominations especially needed for the categories; Excellence in Industry, Heroism, Human Services, Personal Achievement, and Legacy Award.

Nominations are collected online or through paper form, and are due by October 31.

To submit a nomination, a nominator must complete a brief form, and provide up to 400 words on why the individual deserves the award.

Selected recipients will be honored at an in-person gathering on December 1.
