(ABC 6 New) – A Rochester man faces drug and firearm charges following an Olmsted County investigation.

According to Capt. Tim Parkin with the Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office, investigators and members of the SE MN Violent Crimes Enforcement Team searched a building in the 400 block of 9th Street NW, Rochester on Tuesday, Feb. 13.

The warrant was part of an investigation into 39-year-old Tyler Johnson, Parkin said.

According to the OCSO, members of law enforcement located 50 grams of cocaine, 44 grams of mushrooms, an unknown amount of prescription medications, and drug paraphernalia at the location.

Parkin claimed investigators also found a shotgun and ammunition, even though Johnson is ineligible to possess firearms.

Johnson was officially charged with 1st-degree drug sale, 2nd-degree drug possession, three counts of 5th-degree drug possession, and felon in possession of a firearm Thursday, Feb. 15.

According to court documents filed Thursday, members of law enforcement claim they found 1.7 grams of cocaine in a woman’s room at the home, and another 46.8 grams of presumptive cocaine in the residence’s garage.

They also claim they found a suspected drug ledger in Johnson’s living area, a multi-colored rubber container containing suspected methamphetamine, a large serving spoon with “apparent crack cocaine” that was “wet and appeared to be actively being cooked,” two baggies of suspected psilocybin mushrooms, more suspected cocaine in shot glasses, a fake peanut butter jar, and dixie cups, as well as six amphetamine pills, according to court documents.

Johnson’s next court hearing is scheduled for April 4.
