(ABC 6 News) – The month of February is National Literacy Month and the Spark Museum kicked off this month in a fun way.

They’ve invited guests to come and read to kids. The first to go is none other than ABC 6’s very own Randy Brock.

“Because literacy on top of being an important basic educational skill for kids; it teaches a lot of empathy through getting to listen to the stories of others, and it teaches great listening skills and conversation skills, when we ask what the story was about. You get to engage with the kids that way,” said Makeila Nyman, Community Outreach Coordinator for the SPARK Museum.

If you or someone you know is interested in signing up to read to kids, and when the spark museum has openings, head to the SPARK Museum website.
