(ABC 6 News) – In Iowa, lawmakers look to put stricter regulations.

HSB 665 passed through subcommittee on Monday. The bill looks to have the Health and Human Services Department set a potency level for hemp products.

If that limit is surpassed, business owners could be penalized and charged with a serious misdemeanor.

The bill will not go to a full committee. If passed, it will face the Iowa Senate floor for a vote.
