(ABC 6 News) – The Iowa Senate has passed a bill requiring businesses to ensure their employees are not undocumented immigrants.
Businesses would need to use e-verify programs, something business owners have expressed concern over. Business owners say the programs sometimes incorrectly flags people as ineligible.
If signed into law, local law enforcement and members of the public could file a complaint against businesses that do not comply.
