(ABC 6 News) – Iowa House Democrats are hoping to raise the state’s minimum wage to $15 an hour by 2026.

The HF 2293 would stagger the wage increases, with the first push to $10.85 on July 1, 2024.

In 2025, the state’s minimum wage would go to $12.10 an hour. The final adjustment would jump to $15 an hour in July 2026.

Iowa’s wage has not increased since 2008, when it was increased to $7.25 an hour.
