(ABC 6 News) – Saturday was National Ice Cream for Breakfast Day, and a local ice cream parlor in Mason, City, IA celebrated in the best way.

Birdsall’s, a long-time local staple of the town, greeted a line of customers serving ice cream, donut sandwiches, Dutch pancakes and a long list of Iowan-style ice cream flavours.

“Eating ice cream for breakfast and having it totally be okay, although at Birdsall’s we think it’s okay everyday; but nationally it’s okay and a lot of ice cream places all over the country are bringing special things out,” said Co-Owner of Birdsall’s, Michelle Murray. “Introducing special breakfast items, new ice cream flavours, sundaes and a little bit of everything.”

Locals say Birdsall’s definitely knows how to put a smile on customer’s faces.
