Hormel Foods, retired pilot help provide SPAM for Hurricane Ian Victims

(ABC 6 News) – Hormel Foods and a licensed retired pilot from Lakeville, MN teamed up to help victims of Hurricane Ian

This past weekend, Louis Olsen flew to the Austin airport on October 3, where members of the Hormel Foods corporate communications team helped him load 25 cases of SPAM into his plane.

He then flew his Cirrus SR22 aircraft 6½ hours to southern Florida where the cases of SPAM® were transferred to a caravan that went directly to Pine Island, one of the most severely impacted areas in the state.

Olsen, who has piloted his aircraft for more than 20 years, routinely donates his plane, fuel and time to organizations such as Angel Flight and AERObridge, all in the name of helping others.

A few years ago, Hormel Foods established its relationship with Louis Olsen after donating products to him to help victims of Hurricane Harvey.
