Hayfield man arrested on child pornography charge

(ABC 6 News) – A Hayfield man appeared in Dodge County Court Thursday on a charge of possession of child pornography.

Jeffrey Lynn Yngsdal, 50, was taken into custody Wednesday, Feb. 14, following a Minnesota BCA investigation into his online activity.

According to court documents, Dodge County law enforcement received an email from a BCA agent in early January, stating that Synchronoss Tech, a Verizon owner, had flagged a video linked to Yngsdal’s cellphone and email accounts as child pornography.

According to court documents, Synchronoss support told law enforcement that when a child pornography file is detected in someone’s data storage, the video is sent to law enforcement for review.

Dodge County law enforcement allegedly viewed the video and agreed that it showed a child in a sexual situation.

On Wednesday, Dodge County law enforcement allegedly went to Yngsdal’s employer, took Yngsdal into a private office, and provided him with a copy of a search warrant for his residence and all of his electronics.

According to court documents, Yngsdal said people on a dating app had sent him multiple unrequested videos, some of which were child pornography.

He was taken to the Olmsted County ADC at the conclusion of the interview, court documents state.

Yngsdal’s next appearance is scheduled for March 6.
