Garage fire causes $50,000 in damages in Albert Lea

(ABC 6 News) — The Albert Lea Fire Rescue responded to a garage fire around 6:15 a.m. on Tuesday, March 5.

According to the department, the fire was called in by a neighbor and when crews got there, they found a single stall detached garage engulfed in flames.

Crews worked for about two hours to put out the fire. Nobody was injured. The fire caused about $50,000 in damages to the garage, the home, and to both neighbors’ homes and garages.

The Albert Lea Police Department and Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office helped fire crews evacuate nearby homes until the fire was under control.
