(ABC 6 News) – Getting your taxes done can be confusing for some some, but you can get some help for free.

The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program provides counseling to get your income tax return ready.

To be eligible, you must be a resident of Minnesota for a full year and have an income of less than $80,000.

More than 80 volunteers will help people across six locations in Olmsted and Dodge Counties.

Make sure to come prepared with your W-2s and other input forms.

“All goes well, they’ll walk out of there with a finished return, and we’ll electronically file the return for them,” said David Oeth, a VITA area coordinator.
