(ABC 6 News) – Experience Rochester is working to support local restaurants and businesses by presenting the first ever Rochester Restaurant Week.

The weeklong celebration of local food is happening through Sunday, Jan. 22 with more than 30 restaurants participating.

Each establishment will feature promotional lunch and dinner menus including two or three course meals with special pricing. There’s variety to please every taste and budget with both dine-in and carryout options available.

Experience Rochester says this week is a great opportunity to branch out and try something new, or revisit and old favorite.

“The goal is to support those restaurants, to support those small businesses, to support diversity in food in a growing destination, and to help us spur the economy in the short run and in the long run as well,” says Joe Ward, president of Experience Rochester.

Rochester Public Transit is also getting involved by offering free rides to and from participating restaurants.
