Charles City Fire Rescue responds to fire during Red Flag Warning

(ABC 6 News) – Charles City Fire Rescue responded to a well house on fire Sunday.

According to a Charles City Fire Rescue Facebook post, it happened around 2:20 p.m. at the 2600 block of 215th Street.

The fire occurred while a Red Flag Warning was in effect for most of Iowa, including Floyd County, due to risk of extreme fire conditions.

Crews were on scene for about 1.5 hours and were able to extinguish the flames.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Floyd Volunteer Fire Department and Colwell Community Fire Department assisted at the scene.

Firefighters say they have visited the same location a few times over the last few weeks.
