Winter storm to bring snow chance heading into weekend

The parade of storms continues this week as another winter storm has its eye on the area Friday continuing into Saturday morning.

There is still a high degree of uncertainty on the track of the storm which will play a crucial role in how much snow falls in the ABC 6 Weather First area and where the heaviest ultimately lays out. The latest trends have the heaviest snow falling southeast out of the area, however, any shift in the storm track could change that.

Once the storm makes it onshore over the west coast, better data will be sampled and the track and storm evolution will become clearer. Expect details to be ironed out on Thursday.

Arctic air will soon follow as temperatures drop below-zero by Sunday morning and may not make it above-zero until Tuesday.

The Climate Prediction Center has a high probability of below-normal temperatures in the 6-10 day period.
