Up and down temperature swings heading into weekend

There will be some up and down temperature swings over the next several days, but nothing significant as temperatures still look to remain well above average for late February.

Temperatures on Wednesday will be a touch warmer than Tuesday as highs climb into the low-to-mid 50s area wide with some upper 50s possible especially in north Iowa.

It’ll be cooler on Thursday, but still fairly pleasant for this time of year with high temperatures in the mid-to-upper 40s for most.

A cold front will slide through late Thursday night bringing some cooler Canadian air with it. High temperatures will only manage the upper 30s on Friday.

A breezy southwest wind takes hold on Saturday giving temperatures a boost back into the 40s with 50s returning on Sunday. The mild spring-like weather carries over into next week with highs close to 60° on Monday.

The quiet weather pattern will persist until the middle of next week when the next chance for precipitation arrives. Still several details to work out with that storm system as it gets closer.
