Snowfall wrapping up, shear cold stays

With snowfall lightening up from Friday, roads are becoming easier to clear. Despite the improvements, you will still need to give yourself extra time. Another light dusting of snowfall is still possible through Saturday evening. We also have gusty winds that will both blow the snow around and drop wind chills to around 30 to 40 below. Our whole area is under either a Wind Chill Advisory or Wind Chill Warning through Sunday at noon.

Each of the next few mornings will feature lows of -10° or colder, so more advisories or warnings could be added in the future.

As the week goes along, temperatures are still bitter cold, but we’re back above 0° around Tuesday or Wednesday. Then we get a healthy blast of warmer air next weekend that will blow us out of the bitter cold spell we are in.

As for snow opportunities, the best chance we have after Saturday night is a few light snow showers on Thursday. Otherwise, it will be a dry but bitterly cold week ahead.
