Record-breaking temperatures possible Wednesday

A surge of mild air will lead to the potential of record-breaking temperatures across much of the ABC 6 Weather First area on Wednesday.

Fog and clouds will gradually clear throughout the morning leading to a mainly sunny sky the rest of the day.

The wind will be out of the southwest, and combined with sun and lack of snow cover, temperatures will climb to early April levels with highs expected to be near or in the low 50s which is 20° to 25° above average.

The unusually mild weather carries into February with slightly cooler temperatures, but still well above average for the time of year.
