Record-breaking temperatures possible through midweek

A surge of mild air this week will lead to the potential of record-breaking temperatures through the middle of the week.

Temperatures on Tuesday will have the best chance to break records as highs will climb to near or in the low 50s. The record high in Rochester is 43° which was set in 1987 so there’s the possibility that record could be shattered.

A warm front will lift through the area on Wednesday with temperatures climbing into the low 50s which would be another near-record breaking day. Temperatures are once again expected to be near-record levels for Thursday with highs in the low 50s.

A cold front will slide through Thursday night which will put an end to the near-record breaking temperatures as highs are expected to cool off into the 30s heading into the weekend.
