Rain likely Thursday

It’s been well over a week since the last time there was measurable precipitation, and that stretch looks to come to an end on Thursday.

A storm system will track to the west on Thursday, lifting from South Dakota into northern Minnesota, placing the ABC 6 Weather First area in the “warm” sector with near-record high temperatures and rain the main precipitation type.

Rain will likely develop early Thursday morning and become more light and scattered throughout the day before ending Thursday night. Amounts of 0.25″ or less are likely across the area.

Cold air will being to nudge in behind a passing cold front which may produce some snowflakes on Friday and into Friday night. Little, if any accumulation is expected.
