Precipitation chance Monday

It’s been a week since the Rochester International Airport recorded any measurable precipitation. The next best chance will come Monday late afternoon and evening. Moisture will be on the increase thanks to southerly winds which will also drive up temperatures into the mid-to-upper 30s. A low pressure system will approach late afternoon with a warm front tracking from south to north across the area. As it does, there will be the chance for some rain with temperatures above freezing for most. A rain/snow mix is likely in central Minnesota.

A cold front will slide through late Monday night into Tuesday morning, however there is still some uncertainty on how quick the front will move through and how much moisture will be present as colder air wraps in behind it changing any rain over to a rain/snow mix or snow showers. Expect details to be ironed out in future forecasts as we get closer.
