Colder air to settle in for the weekend

Our taste of “spring fever” is over as the early April weather that has gripped much of the area over the last several days has moved on and is being replaced by colder Canadian air that will keep the area chilly through the weekend.

Many communities in the ABC 6 Weather First area broke record high temperatures on Thursday as highs climbed into the 50s. A cold front from a passing storm system that brought some rain on Thursday afternoon, has now passed and colder Canadian air is gradually moving in.

The storm system will move north of Lake Superior on Friday keeping the area under clouds as a secondary cold front slides through later in the day switching winds to the northwest and keeping the area chilly through the weekend. A few flurries will also be possible.

High temperatures will generally be in the mid-30s from Friday through Sunday which is around 10° above average.
