Avoiding the nip of frost tonight

After our first widespread frost (and freeze) of the season on Wednesday morning, we’ll set our frosty starts aside for a while. Thursday morning is still chilly, with upper 30s expected, but a slight breeze from the southeast should keep the temperatures above the area needed for widespread frost formation. That said, spots may develop but it will be brief and isolated and shouldn’t impact the plants.

A frost advisory is in place towards the Mississippi River where the threat is a bit more likely. Northern Wisconsin had a hard freeze last night and the growing season has ended, therefore there is now headline in place.
