Arctic blast to bring bitter cold and dangerous wind chills

A blast of Arctic air will send temperatures plummeting heading into the weekend with dangerous wind chills especially Sunday and Monday mornings.

A winter storm will deliver a punch to the region beginning Thursday night lasting into Saturday. Once the storm passes, the Arctic air will filter in behind.

Temperatures will drop into the teens below-zero by Sunday morning and may not make it above-zero until Tuesday.

Breezy winds through the weekend will lead to below-zero wind chills with potentially dangerous wind chills on Sunday and Monday mornings. Wind chills are expected to be in the -25° to -35° range.

The Arctic air will linger into next week as according to the Climate Prediction Center, temperatures will largely remain below-average.
