A blast of Arctic air to drop temperatures below-zero

Arctic air is on the move and will surge southward into the region later this week lasting into early next as temperatures fall well below-average.

The coldest air of the season will drop temperatures into the single digits for highs on Sunday with temperatures likely not making it above-zero on Monday. Temperatures will finally start to climb back into the teens for highs by the middle of next week.

Night lows will be well below-zero Sunday through Wednesday morning. Wind chills at times may approach dangerous levels as wind chill alerts may be issued.
