Winning Mega Millions ticket worth $106M sold in Minnesota

(ABC 6 News) – Minnesota has its first-ever Mega Millions jackpot winner.

The winning ticket was purchased on April 12 at Holiday Stationstores in Ramsey, Minn. The ticket matched all five winning numbers plus the Mega Ball.

Unless the jackpot winner chooses to opt in to publicity, their name and city will not be released. As of Sept. 1, 2021, the names and cities of lottery prize winners above $10,000 are private data.

Mega Millions jackpot winners have one year from the date of the drawing to claim the prize. After the winner comes forward, they have 60 days to choose the annuity option or the cash option.

This is Minnesota’s first Mega Millions jackpot winner since Minnesota joined the game in 2010.
