Walz presents the official state Thanksgiving turkey

(KSTP) – Wednesday, Gov. Tim Walz presented the official state Thanksgiving turkey.

Walz was joined by members of the Minnesota Turkey Growers Association to present the turkey, named Harold.

Minnesota is one of the nation’s top turkey producers.

Walz said Wednesday there’s a good chance that the turkey many enjoy for Thanksgiving on Thursday is from Minnesota.

The official turkey presentation event aims to highlight the importance of Minnesota agriculture and the need to battle food insecurity during the holidays.
