(ABC 6 News) – Former Minnesota Republican Party Chair Jennifer Carnahan resigned in August amidst a firestorm within her party.

A little background into what’s all transpired over the last month that lead to Carnahan resigning the position she had just been re-elected to.

She resigned on August 19th after news broke about an acquaintance and top GOP donor Tony Lazzaro was arrested on charges of child sex trafficking.

In the weeks that followed, a small group of people within the GOP who did not vote for her during her re-election as party chair brought allegations against her saying she created a toxic work environment.

Her husband, congressman Jim Hagedorn took to Facebook late last week defending her and said that the people in the party hurling accusations at his wife have offered no proof or facts to back up their claims.

For the first time speaking with us publicly, Jennifer Carnahan joins us from her home in the Twin Cities.
