Two Rochester men arrested after police find stolen gun in vehicle

(ABC 6 News) — Two people are facing charges after a Rochester police officer found a stolen gun inside a vehicle during a traffic stop.

According to Rochester Police Lieutenant Tom Faudskar, an officer stopped the vehicle on the 600 block of 11th Ave SE Sunday just before 10 p.m. because it did not have a license plate displayed.

The officer smelled marijuana in the vehicle, and after a search, Lt. Faudskar said the officer found a small amount of marijuana in the car as well as two Smith & Weston handguns; one of them had been reported stolen out of Maple Grove.

Both men in the car were arrested and brought to the Olmsted County Adult Detention Center. Police identified them as 20-year-old Jeremiah Jackson and 19-year-old Teegan Wenzel, both of Rochester.

They were both arrested and are facing multiple charges, including possession of a firearm without a permit.
