The Rochester Civic Theatre turns haunted

(ABC 6 NEWS) – Halloween is Sunday and the Rochester Civic Theatre has turned into a Haunted Theatre.

The theatre has never done something like this before.

Friday through Sunday, you can visit the Civic Theatre to not only be entertained but also frightened, it’s more of a theatrical performance, unlike a normal haunted house.

"You will be greeted at the front door right at the box office by an actor who plays a paranormal investigator. And so we do small groups of 10 and they walk you through the entire facility as you are exploring the paranormal activities and ghosts and spectators of the building," said RCT Managing Director, Misha Johnson.

Those who run the Moster Bash in Harmony shared some tips with the Civic Theatre for putting on the event.

They said the theatre to embrace the stories of hauntings at the theatre over the years.

The new attraction is also helping the theatre reach more teenagers.

"That is really fun to see that younger audience that is coming for this and it is really interactive it is very different because we are utilizing the entire facility so it is something really fun and different that we are bringing to Rochester," said Johnson.

Friday night, there were also be Haunted Trolley Tours for an additional cost.

Johnson said to make sure you reserve your spot early.

The tours will run Friday through Sunday from 7 to 10 p.m. at the RCT Box Office.
