Steele Co. sheriff: 2 teens found dead in Medford confirmed as murder-suicide

(ABC 6 News) – The Steele County Coroner received the preliminary autopsy results in the deaths of two teenagers in Medford on Friday, June 3.

According to The Steele County Sheriff’s Office, autopsy results confirmed their deaths to be a murder-suicide.

Results showed Chandra Pelch, 18, died of multiple gunshot wounds to the head and chest. Jerome Caldwell, 19, suffered a non-fatal gunshot wound to the chest and a fatal gunshot wound to the head.

The autopsy showed both of Caldwell’s injuries are consistent with self-inflicted wounds.

According to the Steele County Sheriff’s Office, 18-year-old Chandra Lanae Pelch and 19-year-old Jerome Charles Caldwell were found dead inside a home in Medford Friday night.

The sheriff’s office stated deputies responded to the area along First Street NW at about 8:22 p.m., after receiving a report of a suspicious incident.

The Bureau of Criminal Apprehension and the Steele County Coroner’s Office are assisting the sheriff’s office in the investigation.
