(ABC 6 News) – A Rochester police officer is on administrative leave after what the department is calling "a use-of-force incident that occurred earlier this week."

A spokesperson for RPD says it is "actively investigating" and that placing the officer on administrative leave is "standard operating procedure" for this type of incident. RPD added it does not have any further information to share and that all officers in the department wear body-worn cameras.

A spokesperson for Mayo Clinic also told ABC 6 News that one of their security officers is on administrative leave pending an internal investigation.

In a statement, Mayo Clinic said, "It is committed to providing a safe environment for our patients and staff and expects all staff and those working on our behalf to follow appropriate procedures. We are taking this complaint seriously, conducting an internal investigation, and are in communication with local law enforcement."

Neither Mayo Clinic nor the Rochester Police department would confirm if the officer and security guard are the same person or involved in the same incident.
