RPD: Austin Man drives erratically, marijuana and stolen handgun found in car

(ABC 6 NEWS) – An Austin man is facing multiple possible charges after police pulled him over and found marijuana and a stolen handgun in his vehicle on Thursday, according to Rochester Police.

Thursday around 11:22 a.m., officers received a traffic complaint about a vehicle driving all over the road and almost causing several accidents.

Officers were able to get behind the vehicle in the 600 block of Civic Center Dr. and witnessed the vehicle hitting the curb several times.

Police pulled the vehicle over and when officers were walking up to the car they noticed the man trying to hide stuff in his car.

When police spoke with the man they could tell he was extremely intoxicated and they did a search for weapons and found a loaded handgun in his front right pocket.

Police arrested the man, Demonterious Jackson, 27 from Austin.

Police said Jackson is prohibited from possessing a firearm because he is a convicted felon. Police later found out the firearm was stolen out of Austin.

He is facing possible charges of possession of marijuana in a vehicle, 3rd-degree driving while impaired test refusal, 4th degree DUI, possession of stolen property, possession of drug paraphernalia, illegal transportation of a firearm, traffic violation, and no permit to carry.
