RPD: 9 to 20 shots fired in drive-by shooting Friday night in NW Rochester

(ABC 6 News) – Rochester police are investigating after a reported drive-by shooting in the area of West Center Street and 11th Ave. NW just after 8 p.m. Friday night.

Witnesses said they heard several shots being fired, one neighbor described seeing a red truck with a person hanging out the passenger side window holding a firearm drive away.

Rochester police told ABC 6 News that between 9-20 shots were fired but it does not appear that anyone was hit. Multiple bullets struck a nearby residence and shell casings were also found in the area.

Police also said "no one has been taken into custody yet," and that there is no ongoing threat to the public.

Preliminary reports indicate that a verbal argument may have occurred between someone in the vehicle and someone standing outside of a house.

According to RPD, this is an open and active investigation.
