Rochester police investigating home burglary

(ABC 6 News) — The homeowners said someone ransacked their room and got into some safes, stealing jewelry and around $4,000 in cash.

The theft happened sometime between 9:30 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. on Monday, November 22 on the 1900 block of South Village Drive SE.

According to Rochester police, the home is a split home and the owners live on the top level, and often times let their employees stay on the bottom level.

On Monday, they came home to find the door to the top level of the home forced open, and someone had trashed their bedroom. The couple, a 58-year-old man and a 47-year-old woman, noticed the cash and jewelry had gone missing from the safes.
