(ABC 6 News) – A Rochester man has been arrested after police said he was found in a stolen vehicle.

Police said a Stewartville woman went into a Kwik Trip on 3rd Ave and 12th St SE Saturday around 2:45 p.m. Police said she left her vehicle running and unlocked while she went inside. When she came out, her vehicle was gone.

The RPD received a call about a suspicious vehicle parked at Sherwin Williams on 7th St NE. Officers arrived and recognized the vehicle as the one reported stolen from the Kwik Trip.

Officers approached the vehicle and saw a man inside. 26-year-old Izack Wells-Crockett was taken into custody. Police said he matched the description of the man seen on surveillance video taking the vehicle.

Officers searched Wells-Crockett and located a small amount of what appeared to be methamphetamine.

He is facing possible charges of motor vehicle theft and 5th-degree controlled substance crime.
