(ABC 6 News) – The Rochester man accused of killing his pregnant girlfriend and her two-year-old daughter filed a motion to withdraw his guilty pleas.

A supporting affidavit filed by Renard Carter’s attorneys on August 5, states that Carter intends to assert that he was coerced into entering the guilty pleas as a basis for his withdrawal.

30-year-old Renard Carter pleaded guilty on July 15 to second-degree murder, second-degree murder with intent, and second-degree murder of an unborn child.

A sentencing hearing was set for September 1. A hearing on the motion has not yet been scheduled.
