(ABC 6 News) — Rochester FC kicked off its UPSL home schedule on Friday, hosting the Maplebrook 58ers in front of a home crowd at RCTC.

Rochester FC entered this game still winless with a 0-1-1 record and aspirations to grab a win at the end of the match. It proved to be easier said than done, Daniel Pilot had a chance early in the first half but ended up hitting the left post on his shot.

Teammate Midhat Mujic had a full head of steam and a breakaway later on, but he failed to score as well. Cameron Brookfield was in position after the 58ers goalie blocked Mujic’s shot, yet, Brookfield couldn’t capitalize either.

Bad luck still followed Rochester FC as Wol Manuer seemed to a have goal in his sights, but his attempt sailed left and out of play.

Ultimately, the 58ers would be the ones to score, winning 1-0 to keep Rochester FC winless. Up next for FC is a home contest against Minneapolis City SC on May 21st.
