Retired Air Force veteran discusses situation in Afghanistan

(ABC 6 News) – The withdrawal of U.S. troops in Afghanistan has made a challenging situation even more difficult for the American citizens and Afghans who’ve helped as allies who remain trapped under a Taliban stronghold. right now, the U.S. only has control of the Kabul airport and can’t guarantee safe passage to the airport and as of today, those hoping to get out of Afghanistan are being advised to shelter in place. Retired General Richard Newton served in the Air Force for more than 34 years and joins Betsy Singer to discuss the situation in Afghanistan.
