(ABC 6 NEWS) – Albert Lea Police responded to gunshots fired Tuesday morning.

According to the Albert Lea Deputy Police Chief, Darren Hanson shots were fired in the area of the 500 block of Euclid Ave just before 4:00 a.m.

Officers responded to the area and found multiple shell casings as well as a vehicle and a home that had gunshot damage.

Right around that time, a male wearing a white hooded sweatshirt was seen leaving the area on a bicycle. Police would like to talk to that person to see if they know anything or saw anything.

Witnesses living in the area say they were sleeping during the time of the shooting but were woken up by the sound of 11 gunshots.

Then, about an hour later around 5:00 a.m., police got more reports of gunshots in the area of the 1000 block of Dunham Street. Once again, officers found multiple shell casings and a home with gunshot damage.

Police believe the incidents are related, but don’t believe there is an ongoing threat to public safety.

They are asking anyone with security cameras in the area, or any information, to contact Detective Vanthavong or Detective Miller of the Albert Lea Police Department at 507-377-5200.

"If you live in the area, go back and check your footage at those times. See if there’s anything that might be related to these incidents that happened. Anything can be helpful so please don’t hesitate to call us," Darren Hanson said.
