Police investigating robbery in SE Rochester

(ABC 6 News) — A Rochester man said he was walking to a friend’s house early Thursday morning when someone robbed and assaulted him on the side of the road.

It happened in the area of 20 St. SE and South Broadway just before 2:00 a.m. The 44-year-old man told Rochester police he was walking when a vehicle pulled up next to him. He said a man got out of the passenger side of the car and demanded the victim give him his wallet.

The victim gave the man his wallet. He said the man then hit him over the head with something and he blacked out. When he regained consciousness, the vehicle and suspects were gone.

The victim walked to Kwik Trip to call police. A Mayo Clinic ambulance also responded, but the victim did not go to the hospital .
