(ABC 6 News) – People in Adams got the chance to see the newly renovated K-12 school that they’ve always wanted to see.

Due to the pandemic, the community was not allowed to see it last year.

The renovated building includes an art-science lab, food science lab, updated technology for all K-12 classrooms, and new equipment for the fine arts department as well as a gym and wellness center.

"A day like today you get to take a step back and just appreciate again what we have and we are just extremely thankful to the community for supporting us as a school district and giving our kids a great place to learn," Southland Superintendent Scott Hall said.

"To finally be in the building last year was great and now to be able to utilize it to its fullest with all the community members being able to be here for event extra we hope that it’s so exciting it is the next chapter for Southland, said Paula Mortenson, Science teacher, and Vex Robotics coach.

The school district is also looking at options for their athletic complex that is not on site but is on the west end of town.
