(ABC 6 News) – Rochester mayor Kim Norton is backing those mayors saying she thinks it was good for Minneapolis and St. Paul to implement the new requirement adding that she believes individual cities need to look at their own community’s vaccination and case rates.

"We really need to be grappling with the masking issue. I think what Minneapolis and St. Paul are doing with requiring a vaccination card is way down the list of priorities for this city council and if we move ahead I think it will be with baby steps if we do it at all and I’m unclear," Norton said.

Norton says vaccinations and boosters are her first ask of the community, then masking.
