(ABC 6 News) – The Mayo Clinic Blood Donor Center is in urgent and immediate need of O+ and O- donations – lives depend on it.

The Blood Donor Center says its supply has reached critically low levels. Seasonal shortages at the Mayo Clinic Blood Donor Center and the outside vendors who typically help the center fill gaps in supply cannot due to their shortages.

The Center said it will be closed on December 24th, even this small break in donations will "significantly affect the already low O+ blood supply at Mayo Clinic in Rochester."

To schedule your blood donation appointment, call the Mayo Clinic Blood Donor Center at 507-284-4475 today.

There are two sites in Rochester to donate at:

  • Mayo Clinic
  • Hilton Building, First Floor
  • 210 2nd St. SW

The Mayo Clinic Blood Donor Center’s location on the main floor of the Hilton Building is open weekdays from 6 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The Blood Donor Center will be closed on December 24th.

  • Mayo Clinic Hospital, Saint Marys Campus
  • Joseph Building, Main Floor, Room M-86
  • 1216 Second St. SW

The Mayo Clinic Blood Donor Center’s location at Joseph M-86 is open weekdays from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. The Blood Donor Center will be closed on December 24th.
