Man robbed, police believe it was racially motivated

(ABC 6 NEWS) – Rochester Police were called to Northwest Rochester early Saturday morning for a robbery.

Police were called just past midnight to the 2300 block of 19th St. NW.

A 24-year-old black male told police he was heading west on Assisi Dr. on his bike when a car came up from the west and drove at him.

The victim told police the car then stopped and a white man in his 30s got out with a crowbar.

Police said the man yelled racial slurs at the victim, hit him in the stomach and leg, and told him to empty his pockets.

The man took the victims’ phone, wallet, and bike and drove off.

Police said he was in a dark 1999 to 2005 SUV.
