Man leads Iowa law enforcement on chase reaching over 100 MPH

(ABC 6 NEWS) – A Cedar Rapids man is in custody after leading Cerro Gordo County deputies on a chase Wednesday night.

The chase happened around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday at the northbound on-ramp of I-35 and Highway 122.

30-year-old Daron Vann of Cedar Rapids was driving in that area when a deputy attempted to pull him over for not having tail lights.

Vann drove off and led deputies into Worth County on a chase reaching speeds of over 100 miles per hour.

Eventually, Vann’s vehicle disabled and he was arrested.

He is facing possible charges of eluding, OWI 1st offense, possession of marijuana, and no driver’s license.

The passenger in the vehicle was released without charges.
