Leaders meet to discuss economic opportunites

(ABC 6 News) – The Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development held a roundtable discussion in Rochester Thursday to talk about why Minnesota is the ideal place to start and grow a business.

The department’s commissioner Steve Grove was joined by several leaders from southeastern Minnesota to discuss the state’s economic opportunities.

"This is where innovation is happening this is where we are building the companies that are going to be the next fortune 500s coming in the next decade and we want to preserve and grow that that special source that Rochester has created and really put it on the map globally," DEED Commissioner Steve Grove said.

Grove says he wants Rochester to become a model for growth in the state, where world-class hospitals and education can act as a foundation for continued economic expansion.
